Kick-off meeting of the project GLOMETS was held at premises of the Institute of Adriatic Crops and Karst Reclamation, Split, and online via Zoom on 21 and 22 February 2024. Aside the international project team (Croatia, Spain, Türkiye, USA), many external collaborating researchers (Finland, UK) attended the meeting and expressed their interests to join to the research activities planned on the project. The lecture about the GLOMETS project, its goals and plans, as well as side-event session related to the project and the science of meteotsunamis, has been organised within the leading European conference in geosciences, European Geosciences Union (EGU) 2024, Vienna, Austria, 14-19 April 2024.
