ENOLOGICAL
LABORATORY is accredited for analysis
of wine by Croatian
Accreditation Agency according to the requirements
of EN
ISO/IEC 17025 standard for testing laboratories.
Enological
Laboratory has been authorised to make physical
and chemical analyses of wines, fruit wines and
other grape and wine products, pursuant to the Wine
Act and its implementing regulations prescribed
for the domestic market, exports and imports.
PHYSICAL-CHEMICAL ANALYSES OF WINE
Determination of relative density at 20°C, concentration
of alcohol, total dry extract, reducing sugars,
total sulphur dioxide, free sulphur dioxide, pH,
total acidity, ash content, volatile acidity, citric
acid, acetic acid, malic acid, gluconic acid, and
pressure.
PHYSICAL-CHEMICAL ANALYSES OF SPIRITS
Determination of relative density at 20°C, concentration
of alcohol, total dry extract, total acidity, total
esters, acetaldehyde, ethyl acetate, acetal, methanol,
2-butanol, propanol, 2-methyl 1-propanol, 1-butanol,
2-methyl 1-butanol, 3-methyl 1-butanol, and ethyl
lactate.
RESEARCH ACTIVITY
The
focus of research activity is polyphenolic compounds
of the autochthonous Croatian cultivars. We have
been studying wine making techniques and its effect
on wine color and tannins as well as on sensory
attributes of wine. We introduced new analytical
methods used for determination of polyphenols, phenolic
acids, anthocyanins, low molecular and high molecular
tannins.
