Research:
The
Department of Plant Sciences at Institute assemble
a group of researchers who work in sciences related
to: horticulture, food-technology and bio-diversity
management. One of our missions is to conduct basic
and applied research in the Adriatic region. Our goal
is to help improve the quality and value of fruits,
vegetables, olives and wines for consumers by the
application of new information. The work on chemical
characterization of bioactive compounds in Adriatic
products is also very important. We make many efforts
to improve traditional Adriatic crops through breeding
program whose methods are based on modern genetics
and molecular biology. Specific objectives are shown
in each research group.
